Currently Obsessed: February.

1. With 10 locations around the country, Sprinkles Cupcakes has got to be the most moist and decadent cupcake I have ever had in my life! And I’m a total cupcake lover/baker myself. Flavors from Banana, Ginger Lemon, Red Velvet (personal fave, EVER), and all the way to Pumpkin make their way through the store and vary through the week. Their frosting on the cupcake is to die for.

2. Bloomspot is another site just like LivingSocial and Groupon. I love their website design, it’s got a wonderful and up-to-date style that makes you want to be on it and shop. Not to mention, the deals are quite the steal and written with a stunning description. Pure poetry!

3. BaubleBar, oh how I love thee. Let me count the ways! I recently discovered BaubleBar from a picture that Kasey from The Nest Co. recently posted. I googled BaubleBar because I was quite curious on where she got her necklace from. L-O-V-E! After joining, you instantly get a $10 credit towards your first purchase to your liking of necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and even for that special man in your life! This is the best way, I believe, to build your jewelry collection – hassle free. They source from the same designers that your local high-end department store sources from, without the mark-up. Not to mention, they’ll keep you around with Buried Bauble, The Vault, and special member discounts! Interested? Join **REVIEW COMING SOON**

4. Glitter. I don’t care what color, as long as it’s on my nails. It’s become the finishing touch to my manicures with a glitter topcoat!

5. Natural Life Chip Clips are the cutest chip clips, ever. Made with stained wood, painted art, and some rhinestone bling – being organized has never looked so cute!

Most times you look at the origins tag of an item, it more than likely is not made here in America. If we all began buying more American products, more jobs would be created with the demand of USA-made goods, therefore, also stimulating our economy in a lovely cycle.

REVIEW: Charming Charlie

Lately, my rash for jewelry has begun itching again. I took a trip after my lunch date with Edgar to Charming Charlie and grabbed a few items. I’m very fond of CC as they sponsored my degree program’s first annual Fashion Merchandising Career Forum in 2010 and also the TxSCC I went to back in March of this year. Heck, I even had my professor drive us to a Charming Charlie via GPS during a Dallas fashion industry tour in 2010 as well.

My style of jewelry? Uncommon, conversation-starters that complement my outfits and personality. I’m partial more to some brands of jewelry such as James Avery, Tarina Tarantino, Dogeared, and the occasional statement piece from Anthropologie.

But, Charming Charlie  has a different kind of flair. Each store is broken up into colorized merchandise. That’s right, your purples, pinks, blues, browns, creams, etc. – each have their own wall/island of that color family ready for your viewing pleasure! I love it. It makes me feel at ease when I’m looking for a certain accessory.

I wasn’t looking for anything particular. Just whatever caught my eye.

 Wooden ring – $7.97
Leather Flower ring – $14.97
Tape measure (um, leopard, hi!) – $4.97
Fish necklace – $12.97

What’s awesome about Charming Charlie is the prices are reasonable, items are very trendy and can be timeless pieces, and they have a loyalty program! So with every purchase, you can get a small discount if you join their loyalty program.

27 states currently have at least ONE store! Check out their locations to see if one is in your neighborhood, city, or on the blueprint map!

Algorithms, what?!

Maybe this has been around for a while, but it’s now catching on and becoming more and more popular. Ladies and Gents, I present to you, algorithms. And this isn’t your typical math either. New and emerging shopping sites are using algorithms to determine your personal taste.

What? Algorithms? What the Hello Kitty is she talking about, “algorithms?”. And this isn’t rhythm from the Alps either.

It all starts with a series of questions.:

And behold, your selections are picked for you!

Jewelmint, endorsed by Kate Bosworth, is a monthly subscription for $29.99 that gives you a personalized choice of earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces.  You have 5 days to choose and buy, skip the month, or forget about the month and be given a credit to use at a later date.

Shoedazzle works the same as Jewelmint as far as the subscription fine line goes. However, for $39.95, 5 prospective monthly shoes are chosen for your style and personality! All you have to do is pick the winning shoe. Again, you have 5 days to buy, skip, request alternates, or take a credit.

Stylemint, the latest venture by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, is set the premiere on July 1st with $29.99 t-shirts designed by the twins. Frankly, there’s nothing these girls cant do; and to accommodate to a lower price point is just about amazing as their Elizabeth and James, and The Row line.

Cinco de Mayo, AYE!

It’s Cinco de Mayo! Margaritas, mariachis, and your sweet dance moves. I attempted to go to the TIKKR 1st year birthday party on 2nd street – wasn’t happening. I have this thing about being in hot, outdoor crowds with cigarettes and inebriated beings. Reminds me of my days working outside as a waitress, ewwww!

Top: Forever 21
Jeans: American Eagle
Flats: Shi
Necklace: Anthropologie
Watch: TIKKR

With my trip to 2nd street, I finally made a trip to Langford Market…
